Three peaks rise in the middle of the clear blue water of the Namhan River flowing leisurely, Danyang Dodam Sambong

Dodam Sambong is a wonderful friend who shared the childhood of Jeong-do, who was a member of the Joseon Dynasty, and is also a scenic spot that shook Toegye Lee Hwang's sense of poetry (poetry). It is said that Sambongsan Mountain in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do originally floated during the flood and became the current Dodam Sambong, and another interesting story is told here.

It is said that at the time, Jeongseon-gun was unfairly demanding taxes on Sambong, which had flowed all the way to Danyang. Jeong-doo, who was a young boy at the time, took the lead and claimed, “We didn't ask Sambong to float off Jeongseon; rather, there is no reason to pay taxes on peaks that are of no use because they block waterways and are causing damage, so take them to the road.”

Later, Jeong-do showed special affection for Dodam Sambong to the extent that he named Ho Sambong. I don't know the deep story of the three large peaks flowing all the way to Danyang, but I wonder if the sky meant to add an even more beautiful scenery to Mount Paldogang.

After hearing this story, the sight of Dodam Sambong wrapped around the blue waves of the Namhan River with silk seems even more mysterious and enchanting. On the large peak in the center of Dodam Sambong, a hexagonal pavilion called Samdo Jeong is nicely placed, creating an even more mellow atmosphere.

Dodam Sambong is sometimes a poet's jewel, sometimes it is a picture of visitors visiting Paldo, and it remains a beautiful comma for those who have lost their mind. I want to unstoppably dive into that enchanting scenery. Toegye Lee Hwang, who met Dodam Sambong, wrote a song about its beauty in a poem.

山明楓葉水明沙
三島斜陽帶晩霞
爲泊仙橫翠壁
待看星月湧金波

The mountain has red maple leaves and the water is as clear as jade
There was a sunset over Dodam Sambong at sunset
Lean the fresh raft against the wall and hit it well
Under the starry moonlight, the golden waves also softened.
