A village under Samdobong Peak in Eoraesan Mountain, where Chungcheongbuk-do, Gangwon-do, and Gyeongsangbuk-do are neighboring provinces.
It is surrounded by high mountains on all sides, and the two stranded valleys of Namdaecheon and Marakcheon come together to form the Kimsatgatgyegok Valley, with a narrow road leading to the gorge.
Since ancient times, Uipung has also been called Sampung, and it was said that it is a place where people can escape to and live because of its good people, abundant grain seeds, and favorable natural conditions. Therefore, it has been established as one of the ten great places in the Jeonggam-rok written by the Joseon Dynasty philosopher Nam Sago.
The villagers are interested in eco-friendly cultivation and grow chili peppers, Schisandra, corn, and soybeans in an eco-friendly way, and the quality of their products is also the best in this semi-alpine area at an altitude of more than 400 meters above sea level. If you come to Solmit Ecological Experience Village, you can experience corn picking, kimchi making, apple picking, red pepper side dish making, ecological experience school, etc.

| Experience Information | Uipung-ri Solmit Village is a mountain village located where Taebaeksan Mountain and Sobaeksan Mountain meet. Therefore, there are many valleys and streams throughout the village. If you come to Uipung-ri, you can enjoy a fun nature experience of catching freshwater fish in the streams. It's a great activity for young children, and it also gives them a chance to learn about the importance of the environment. The fish you catch will be used to make spicy fish soup (maeuntang) or fish porridge. (eojuk) |
