A vertical cave with a steep slope of 40-50 degrees Danyang Nodongdonggul Cave

(Not open to the public)

노동동굴

The cave is located near Nodongcheon Stream, where the Namhangang River stem enters the Namhangang River, and the total length of the cave is about 800 meters. Danyang Nodongdonggul Cave is formed of limestone, and the slope inside the cave is very steep.

Fragments of pottery have been found under the cave's vertical walls, and it is said that the cave served as a shelter for voluntary soldiers and as an artillery factory during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. Inside the cave, you'll find "Yongduam Rock," a pair of giant male and female dragons, and many other figures resembling male and female figures, and most of the stalagmites are in the shape of icicles.

The 'Sacred Bell of Great King Seongdeok', which resembles a Western pumpkin, the 'Golden Rock', a world-class stalagmite that resembles the Cheonji Lake of Baekdusan Mountain, and the 'Underground White Jade Waterfall', which creates a huge waterfall when it rains, are particularly spectacular. The cave, which looks like it was sculpted out of mud, has a rustic, old-fashioned atmosphere and is home to more than 30 types of natural sculptures that are living a new life in the deep cave.

Unfortunately, it is not open to the public for safety reasons due to the steep slope.
