A beautiful mountain like an embroidered piece of silk Geumsusan Mountain

Geumsusan Mountain is a 1,016-meter mountain that spans Danyang and Jecheon and is one of the top 100 famous mountains and belongs to Woraksan National Park. If you look at it from the south, its ridge looks like a person lying down. The mountain was originally named "Baekamsan Mountain," but it became known as "Geumsusan Mountain"* when Toegye Yi Hwang, who was the governor of Danyang, said that the mountain's appearance was so fine and beautiful that it looked like it was embroidered with silk.

It's cool to see Geumsusan from the river on a cruise ship, but another way to experience its charm is to climb the mountain. Starting from the Sanghak parking lot in Jeokseong-myeon, you can experience the mysterious nature of Hanyangji, an ice cave that freezes even in the middle of summer, and Yongso, a spring that consistently gushes water even in the rainy season and drought. From the summit, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and the wide, blue waters of Chungjuho Lake.

The 3-kilometer road from the Jeokseong-myeon office to the Sanghak parking lot is lined with persimmon trees, and the parade of persimmons in autumn is an eye-catching sight. You can enjoy a blissful day under the autumn sky, including climbing Geumsusan Mountain, walking around the trail, enjoying performances, and shopping for agricultural products.

Every October, the Gamgol Maple Festival is held, and many hikers come here to enjoy the autumn colors of Geumsusan Mountain.
