Danyang’s Designated Tourist Spots

There are three designated tourist spots in Danyang, including Darian and Cheondong Tourist Area, which are located in Cheondong-ri, Danyang-eup. The area of Yeongchun-myeon where Ondal Tourist Area is located today was... During the Three Kingdoms period, it was a territory of Goguryeo, and a place where a fierce territorial war was fought between Goguryeo and Silla. There are still various toponyms related to the war and cultural sites from the Three Kingdoms period, including Ondalsanseong Fortress. Ondal Tourist Park is a theme park built on the legend of Princess Pyeonggang and General Ondal, a famous Goguryeo general, along with this historical background. It consists of Ondalgwan Museum, Ondaldonggul Cave, Theme Park, Jangseung Park, and Video Theme Park.

Darian Local Tourist Site (Cheondong-ri, Danyang-eup)

Darian Local Tourist Site is located at the gateway to Sobaeksan National Park in Cheondong-ri, Danyang-eup... It is located 7.1 kilometers from Danyang city center. The clean and clear water of the Darian Valley, which flows from the deep valley of Sobaeksan Mountain, forms the Darian Waterfall and flows around the scenic area. The tourist site is equipped with huts, campsites, sports grounds, catering facilities, and parking lots, making it a great place to enjoy hiking, spend the summer, and relax.

Cheondong Local Tourist Site (Cheondong-ri, Danyang-eup)

Cheondong Tourist Site, which covers an area of 124,044 square meters, is located 10 minutes (6.7 kilometers) from the center of Danyang-eup. It is formed around Cheondong Valley, where clear streams of valley water flow from the deep rocky crevices of Sobaeksan Mountain. It is a tourist destination with various convenience facilities, such as the Cheondong water playground and camping site (auto-camping site and deck-camping site)
